What are the possibilities of encouraging our Scottish government to start a self help build your own eco house program?

The shortage of local authority housing could possibly be met by those willing to build their own Earth ships, straw bale houes etc being given the land and resourses to build autogenous houses. Such a practice would help combat/control global warming while helping the poorer among us by irradicating fuel bills.

To date, this is merely an idea for possible developement.

We HAVE to start taking care of our children's inheritance: this beautiful planet or it will cease to be habitable. Also, the wherewithall to do so must not be left in teh hands of teh wealthy alone. How many poor can affford solar panels or windmills?

There are many more poor in this world than there are wealthy.

The Earthship, for example would double as a means of ridding ourselves of much of the waste from our, to date, disposable livestyles. Tyres, for example, bottles and cans would be reused as construction materials.

Would those greater minds than mine, please, give a wee bit of consideration as to the possibity of getting such a program instigated.
